Measurement & Criteria
FiG stands for Food Index for Good.
To create this index, we measure restaurants against their adoption of four pillars of environmental sustainability:
- Plant-forward menus and/or sustainably-sourced meat
- Seasonal, local, organic ingredients
- Waste management
- Energy efficiency
How can I become a FiG restaurant?
Become a FiG restaurant in three steps:
Optimize Your Operations
Start by sorting your trash and recycling if you’re not already. Then, evaluate your menu. Introduce at least one vegetarian appetizer and entree if you don’t already have one. These are prerequisites to joining the FiG network.
Understand Your Current Footprint
Send us your food, beverage, and energy invoices for three different months, along with your menus. We’ll perform an in-depth audit to evaluate your restaurant against the FiG criteria and send you a report outlining your strengths, eligibility, and opportunities to improve.
This audit has a cost: we ask you to participate to the expenses of 100€ excl. VAT/year (introductory offer) which includes everything: audit, support, promotion.
Promote Your Sustainability
Once you become eligible, you’ll be able to promote your FiG badge on TripAdvisor, TheFork, and other restaurant discovery platforms with the FiG badge on your profile.
